A hand with
your next call.
Questions, a confusing time, or something that does not look right? We’d like to hear about it.
contact@brighteng.orgInclude your iPhone model, iOS version, Overlap version, and the steps that led to the issue. For time-zone problems, include the cities and date. Please remove private names from screenshots.
Getting started
- Set your home city and usual hours in Me.
- Open People and add someone’s name and city. Adjust their hours when needed.
- In Plan, choose the people, date, and duration. Compare the suggested times or select one on the timeline.
Common questions
Do the other people need the app?
No. You enter the people and their cities on your device. They do not need an Overlap account or installation for you to plan a call.
What do preferred hours mean?
These are the hours you have entered as suitable for each person. Recommendations use those preferences and optional working hours. They do not show someone’s actual availability or whether they are awake.
Why does the best time still seem inconvenient?
Some combinations of time zones and schedules have no ideal overlap. Review the explanation and each person’s local time, try another date or call length, and check that the saved hours are accurate. Days off are preferences rather than hard blocks.
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Overlap uses the selected city’s time zone and the date you are planning for. Offsets can change across daylight saving transitions, so check the planned date rather than assuming today’s offset.
Does adding an event send an invitation?
The calendar action opens an iOS event draft. Review its details and your calendar’s sharing settings before saving. Overlap does not automatically send invitations or book time for other people.
How do I remove my data?
Remove individual people from their edit screen, or go to Me → Data & Privacy → Erase all local data to reset the app. Overlap has no server account to delete.
